| ChildWorks offers various approaches to treatment. ChildWorks operates under the premise that not one approach works well for every child. ChildWorks offers both traditional and Sensory Integration approaches to therapy. Six individual therapy rooms allow for work in a quieter environment. A multi-purpose room containing a large table and several chairs, a circle time area and a computer station allows for group activities along with computer based learning. Our gym, with it’s motivating and therapeutic equipment, provides opportunities for work on a wide variety of OT, PT and Speech skills. SATURDAY SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE! Social Skills Groups Social Skills Groups are facilitated by a licensed speech and language pathologist. Prior to being placed in a group we ask that you bring your child in for a brief consultation. The purpose of this is to meet your child and observe their skills via informal observations. The information gathered will help us place your child in an appropriate group. This initial consultation is of no cost to you. Groups are formed based on age and skill level. Let’s Play! “Let’s Play!” is a social skills group for children ages 3-5. The objectives of this group include improving attending skills, interactions with peers and expressive language skills. Each week the children will engage in exciting activities such as cooking, crafts and music. Each week we will focus on a different theme. It’s fun to learn while we play! Circle of Friends “Circle of Friends” is a social group for children ages 5-8. The objectives of this group include improving peer interactions and building confidence along with self-esteem. We’ll come together, have some fun and build a circle of friends! |
